We have farmers and ranchers ask us that question even if they aren’t selling or buying land. We can’t predict what land prices are going to do, but neither can anyone else. At Total Auctions and Real Estate what we do is help land sellers find buyers through auction or private treaty, and we help buyers find land.
We are able to provide timely information and market comparisons to help sellers and buyers make a better decision. Two things separate us from other land auction companies. First, We know a lot of farmers, ranchers and investors. This allows us to reach out to people we know who have already told us they want to buy either to expand their operation or for investment purposes. Second, Andy Harr & Brad Swenson both take the time to sit down with you and hear what you’re thinking. It’s OK if you’re not ready to sell now. Maybe you’re just interested in knowing what your land is worth? We have a lot of land owners that want to sell by private treaty, because they don’t want to have a big auction. We sell a lot of land by private treaty.

I attended auctioneer school in 2014 at Continental Auctioneer School, Mankato Minnesota. I obtained my Land Broker license in 2004. I grew up in Brandon SD. I love helping people buy or sell land because I love the beauty of the land and the history involved in all of it. It could be someone wanting to start their legacy with buying their first farm or someone wanting to sell a farm or ranch that has been in their family for over 100yrs. The story behind the land and the beauty of it is fascinating.
I currently reside just outside Sioux Falls with my wife Cathy (Engel) from Chamberlain SD. We stay busy with our two kids Brody (12 yrs) and Finley (8 yr). With over 15 years experience in the Real Estate industry I have handled numerous transactions from the large Farm Sale to the $100,000 first time home. Brads experience in ag and investment business has created one of the largest portfolios of farm and ranch owners and investors in the entire Midwest.
Brad received his real estate license in April of 2015 and became a partner in Total Auction and Real Estate. He was the founder of Swenson Investments and Commodities and Swenson Wealth Management. He grew up in Sioux Falls, S. Dakota and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in business. He joined the family animal health and feed business, Sioux Nation Ag Center in 1980. Brad started Dakota Commodities in 1990. Since then he’s added new team members, expanded to three locations and added new services which led to the business name change to Swenson Investments and Commodities and Swenson Wealth Management. Brad and his wife Konni have three grown children and live in Sioux Falls, S.D.

I grew up in the small town of Stickney, South Dakota and graduated from Augustana College (Now Augustana University). Growing up in an Ag banking family along with insurance and real estate, I have always enjoyed real estate from a young age riding along with grandfather on projects. I am a partner of Total Auction and Real Estate along with being a co-owner of IT Outlet a computer hardware firm that was started 10 years ago this fall.
My wife of 15 years and I have 3 girls together (Geneva 9, Josephine 6, and Cecilia 1.5), so we stay very busy and needles to say, I am very out numbered. I currently hold a position on our church council and was on our communities road district. Helping families with their dreams is an awesome feeling and I would love to be able to help anyone with any type of real estate transaction for personal or business.
